EMERY TAYLOR MEMORIAL GAZEBO
One of the most visible projects achieved by the Hebron Women?s Club is the Emery Taylor Memorial Gazebo located next to the town office building.
Several years before the Gazebo Project, HWC had created a fund for the future beautification of Hebron. At the time of Emery Taylor?s death, the Club activated the account to construct t a gazebo and garden in his memory. HWC felt that this was a fitting tribute to a man who contributed so much to Hebron and supported HWC during his life. Only in meeting with Mrs. Taylor did we discover that his dream was to erect a town gazebo.
We met with town officials who supported the Club's idea and suggested a favorable site. The gazebo was built in what was once the well-known 'Horton Gardens'
This landmark has become the site of family and town events, especially caroling during the holiday season.
